International online network involved in cat torture and abuse exposed
An international network dedicated to the online torture and abuse of cats has been uncovered, with members from various countries, including the UK. The BBC investigation reveals graphic videos and images showing the abuse of kittens, with members sharing and selling footage of cats being mutilated, electrocuted, and drowned. Some groups encourage users to adopt kittens for the sole purpose of torturing them. The investigation follows the recent case of two teenagers in the UK, who admitted to torturing and killing two kittens in a park. Animal rights group Feline Guardians has tracked the scale of the network, finding 24 active groups and numerous members posting disturbing content. The groups, which started in China, have spread worldwide, with some even promoting competitions for the number of cats tortured. Authorities are being urged to take action, as the network continues to expand. Volunteers have infiltrated the groups, leading to the identification of perpetrators in various countries, including Japan. Activists are calling for stricter laws and greater enforcement to curb this horrific form of animal cruelty.
